O'Reilly Goes After McClellan Sends Fox News Goons to His Home

O'Reilly goes ballistic over former White House press secretary Scott McClellan's publisher's recent revelations for not coming out and clarifying whether he is calling Bush a liar in his upcoming book or not.

O'Reilly: It's not going to hurt his dopey book sales to come out and clear the air about a very serious allegation about people he worked with, people he was close to. What's the matter with this McClellan?
So Billo, just as he has done so many times before, sent his minions out to ambush him at his home but there was no answer. The big giant head then gets himself all worked up, screaming and shaking his finger and he basically calls Scott a wimp in playgroundspeak.

Word to Scotty. Billo's coming to your home and insulting your manliness in front of hundreds of thousands of viewers. You just gonna take that?

Stephen Hayes Still Linking al-Qaeda and Iraq

Robbins: You can lie a thousand times—it doesn’t make it true.
Tim Robbins asks him to apologize to the American people for helping to deceive us into this mess when he wrote "The Connection: How al Qaeda's Collaboration with Saddam Hussein Has Endangered America". Hayes refused and continued to assert the claim and the audience wasn't having any of it.

C&L has the video.

Robbins: You can lie a thousand times—it doesn’t make it true.

For the record, Tim Robbins, Bill Maher and Stephen Hayes could all be considered 'technically' correct, but in Stephen's case it's a stretch to be kind. Keane did say Iraq and al Qaeda affiliated persons had several “contacts” with each other but he also said there was never any evidence that the contacts produced any sort of “collaborative relationship” on any level. Anyone calling that a “relationship” is spinning the wrong way for sure, and you have to ask, why?

Here's a MUCH better example of a "relationship" with Saddam:

Giuliani: Ground Zero, Yankee Stadium, What's the Difference?

O.M.G.

After 9/11, Rudy wasn't a rescue worker -- he was a Yankee
Giuliani said he spent as much time at ground zero as many rescue workers. Where was he really? Much of the time, at baseball games.
On Friday, a New York Times story examined Rudy Giuliani's schedule in the months after 9/11 to verify his controversial claim that, like rescue workers, he'd spent long hours at ground zero, and so was "in that sense ... one of them." In fact, the Times found, he only spent 29 hours at the terror site between Sept. 17 and Dec. 16.

What was he doing instead? Giuliani's beloved New York Yankees made it to the World Series in 2001. We decided to compare the time he spent on baseball to the time he spent at the ruins of the World Trade Center.

The results were, considering the mayor's long-standing devotion to the Bronx Bombers, unsurprising. By our count, Giuliani spent about 58 hours at Yankees games or flying to them in the 40 days between Sept. 25 and Nov. 4, roughly twice as long as he spent at ground zero in the 90 days between Sept. 17 and Dec. 16. By his own standard, Giuliani was one of the Yankees more than he was one of the rescue workers. ...
As I posted last week, Olbermann took Giuliani to task over this same issue:

Myth-Busting Giuliani's Despicable Lies

video: Former NYC mayor Rudy Giuliani in drag

NYT: For Giuliani, Ground Zero as Linchpin and Thorn *

On at least three occasions, in responding to accusations that the city failed to adequately protect the health of workers in the wreckage, he has boasted that he faced comparable risks himself. In one appearance he declared that he had been in the ruins “as often, if not more” than the cleanup workers who logged hundreds of hours in the smoldering pile.

Another time he brushed aside safety claims by asserting that his long hours at the site had left him susceptible to “every health consequence that people have suffered.”

So, how much time did Mayor Giuliani spend at ground zero?

A complete record of Mr. Giuliani’s exposure to the site is not available for the chaotic six days after the attack, when he was a frequent visitor. But an exhaustively detailed account from his mayoral archive, revised after the events to account for last-minute changes on scheduled stops, does exist for the period of Sept. 17 to Dec. 16, 2001. It shows he was there for a total of 29 hours in those three months, often for short periods or to visit locations adjacent to the rubble. In that same period, many rescue and recovery workers put in daily 12-hour shifts.

Also, please do read about Rudy Giuliani and the "five big lies" and how Rudy Giuliani "set up his pre-9/11 counter-terrorism HQ as a love nest" -- "which, if read, should effectively end Giuliani's presidential ambitions."

Romney Admits to Lying & Flip-Flopping About Abortion

Chris Wallace rolls the tape of Mitt Romney admitting last week to lying about his (supposed) pro-life position just to get elected Gov and then broke out a couple clips of Romney actually defending his pro-choice position back then.

Wallace: "For eight years, eight years, you said that you would protect and
respect a woman's right to choose."

Romney: "Yes"
It's hard to take anything away from this other than the fact (unless you refuse to believe your lying eyes & ears) that Romney has admitted that he will say absolutely anything to get elected and that he is a collossal flip flopper.

Worst Persons: O'Reilly, Bush, and "Gunny" Bob Newman

Last night's Worst Person was extra good.

Worse to O'Reilly for more of his website hypocrisy as he attacks blogs for open forums.

Worser to Bush for having another off-the record chat with right-wing blowhard sycophants tv/radio hosts incl Beck, Bennett, Boortz, Hennen, Hewitt, Ingraham, ... (yuk)

Worst Person in the World to "Gunny" Bob Newman for "lying entirely" about what Wesley Clark said to Olbermann about the Tillman coverup.

Dick Cheney: Lying Liars Edition

TPMtv:

Cheney's pants on fire

If you watch when he lies to Larry King, he can't make eye contact. Once you know what to look for it's really jarring and obvious.

Giuliani's Tax Cut Fantasy

Giuliani was tonight's 3rd 'Worst Person in the World' for Rudy's claim that he cut or eliminated taxes 23 times as mayor of NYC. The problem is 4 of those the tax cut was initiated by others, one he counts twice, an at least one of the cuts was actually one that passed but mayor Giuliani opposed and tried to prevent.

Olbermann:
"It's not 23. Generously it's 19. Realistically it's 17, and the value of those cuts is not the 9 billion Giuliani claims but less than 5."

"A Really Big Deal"

Thinkprogress: AP Reveals New Document Demonstrates ‘Clear Case’ Of Gonzales Perjury On Spying Program

MSNBC’s David Shuster: “this is a really, really big deal and a big problem for Gonzales. … The legal expert I talked to tonight said this is a clear case of perjury.”
TPM: Alberto Gonzales: Lying Liar Editionpants on fire
Now it seems even the markedly right-wing editorial board at the
Washington Post has bailed on Gonzales:
Credibility Collapse
Once again, Alberto Gonzales is unable to offer straight answers to simple questions.
... At what point does someone lose so much credibility that he should no longer serve in public office? In the case of Mr. Gonzales, we believe that time has come and gone.
