Joie de Vivre

I know I haven't been posting too much lately. Been taking a bit of a break from the rat-race since Obama locked up the nomination.

Had to interrupt the hiatus for this though. This is absolutely my favorite video ever. No other even comes close.

HQ version here at wherethehellismatt.com.

I love everything about Matt and his videos, especially this latest one. It's just beautiful on every level. It's virtual heroin and I'm totally hooked on it.

The beautiful voice of Palbasha SiddiqueAnd the song is fantastic. Composed for the video, the song is Praan by Garry Schyman, and the beautiful voice is Palbasha Siddique, whose story and how Matt's girlfriend Melissa stumbled upon her is worth checking out. The lyrics are a Bengali translation of the poem "Stream of Life" by Rabindranath Tagore:
The same stream of life that runs through my veins night and day
runs through the world and dances in rhythmic measures.

It is the same life that shoots in joy through the dust of the earth
in numberless blades of grass
and breaks into tumultuous waves of leaves and flowers.

It is the same life that is rocked in the ocean-cradle of birth
and of death, in ebb and in flow.

I feel my limbs are made glorious by the touch of this world of life.
And my pride is from the life-throb of ages dancing in my blood this moment.
